Zoom Interview with Joy Harding & a Giveaway

By Deena Adams

Please help me welcome Joy Harding to the blog this week. Joy answered my call out on Facebook for author interviews, and it was a pleasure learning about her and her novels.

She’s graciously offered a giveaway, so one person who comments on this post by January 25 will win their choice of format of Joy’s debut novel, Boundary Waters Search and Rescue: Beyond Belief AND a paperback of book two, Boundary Waters Search and Rescue: Beyond Imagination.

As a heads up, I had technical issues on my end when we recorded Joy’s interview so my words are not exactly in sync with my mouth. Since Joy does most of the talking, I decided to go ahead and publish as is. I apologize, and I’m working on fixing the problem.

I hope you enjoy meeting Joy!

Join the conversation. Does a story about search and rescue interest you? Do you enjoy a romance element in an adventure novel? What about animals in the story? Fan or not?

Be sure to comment by January 25 for a chance to win a copy of both of Joy’s novels!

Trauma surgeon and co-founder of the Boundary Waters Search and Rescue Unit, Jack Lockwood, was beyond frustrated…

A century blizzard, impassable roads, and gale force winds start Jack’s Monday off the wrong way long before daybreak. To make matters worse, his friend and colleague—the police chief of Ely, Minnesota—orders him to stay home on a morning when the weather virtually guarantees injuries requiring Jack’s skills.

Little did he realize that he wouldn’t need to go anywhere to save a life that morning. His next rescue would be in his own front yard, where he finds a half-frozen, gravely injured woman buried in a snowdrift. A woman who needs his help to stay alive long enough to tell her story—why she was out in this kind of weather—bound, battered, and bleeding.

When a chance encounter in the Emergency Room leaves Ely physician Jack Lockwood reeling from the opening of a long-buried wound, he and Liz struggle to cope. Little did they know the sweeping life changes that would come out of their distressed prayers that night. Through the pain of almost forgotten regrets to new joys, their faith leads them on a journey only God could orchestrate.

An old foe, unimaginable twists, and deep disappointments challenge both Jack’s and Liz’s faith and their young marriage. Will their love survive strong and intact, or will the pain of the past overcome the promise of the future?

      Hi Penny!
The Boundary Waters and environs are a wonderful place to visit (and the environs are a beautiful place to live) If you ever do go to visit, I would recommend late summer or early autumn. Both are lovely, the weather tends to be beautiful, and the mosquitos are past their prime. I hope you will enjoy the books. Because I am from northern Minnesota they reflect my love for the north country. (And also my respect for it’s reflection of God’s glory and power.)

I loved the premise of the novels, but Joys interview impressed me even more- she was so ‘real’ during the interview. That has me wanting to read her novels even more than the back cover blurbs.

    Hi all!
I am so excited about this wonderful opportunity to share my book with Deena on this interview. Talking with her was so much fun and, of course, I love talking about my books. I am living proof that God doesn’t need our abilities, but rather our availability!

Just so you all know-the second book in this series, Boundary Water Search and Rescue: Beyond Imagination, has been released in print form (digital soon to come) and is available on-line at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and on other outlets soon.

I am here and if anyone has questions, I’m happy to answer them. Looking forward to connecting with you!

    Blessings,
    Joy
